Mexican squirrels are everyday and generally solitary creatures. They are usually arboreal but come to the ground to feed or move from tree to tree. However, in Mexico, these squirrels are known to use the forest floor all year round, especially in the dry season. Mexican gray squirrels make nests that they build on tree branches about 5-15 m above the ground. They are local animals; The habitat of females is smaller than that of males. When threatened, Mexican gray squirrels become aggressive. They bark and move their tails rapidly back and forth. To communicate with each other, they produce four different vocalizations: song call, song call, mating call and death call. GROUP NAME
